Donor Advised Funds: Flexible Giving
Year-end giving is right around the corner.
Donor Advised Funds at Marion Community Foundation allow you to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction, and recommend grants to nonprofit organizations over time. It’s an easy way to organize your giving while staying connected to the charitable causes that matter most to you.
With a Donor Advised Fund, you can:
— Make a charitable gift when it works best for your financial and tax planning
— Support local organizations and community priorities for years to come
— Recommend grants at your own pace and be involved in your charitable giving
— Build a personal or family tradition of philanthropy
Donor Advised Funds can be established by
individuals, families, or companies. The
Whetstone Financial Fund was created by founder
Ron Scharer and his wife, Laura,
in 2016. Employees of the financial advisory firm
annually award grants in support of community
programs they collectively select.

Whether you’re planning a significant year-end gift or looking for a long-term approach to charitable giving, a Donor Advised Fund can help you turn generosity into lasting community impact. Opening a fund is straightforward, and Marion Community Foundation is here to guide you through the process. The gift you make today can continue supporting the people, organizations, and opportunities that help the Marion community thrive for years to come.
