Scholarship Program
Educational achievement is important.
For 26+ years, our donors have been providing scholarships for Marion area students to pursue their higher education goals.
Today, Marion Community Foundation offers a scholarship program awarding more than $500,000 to high school seniors, college students and non-traditional students.
Scholarships are offered to applicants planning to attend a trade school, two-year or four-year institution, graduate school, law school, or medical school. Each scholarship fund has specific criteria and requirements. Scholarships requirements focus in and around the Marion, Ohio geographic area.
Applications are available online each year in January-February. A link to the application will appear on the APPLY page during the open application period.

Thank you to everyone who applied for a 2025-2026 scholarship! Selections will be announced by May 1, 2025. If you’re a Marion-connected high school senior or student in higher education, we encourage you to apply for the 2026-2027 scholarships when the application opens in December 2025. The 2025 deadline for Marion Community Foundation scholarship applications was Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. The deadline is absolute. All parts of the application must be complete – including essays and recommendations – by the deadline date and time in order for it to be processed and considered.
Applicants should receive a confirmation email indicating the application is in SUBMITTED status when all portions have been successfully completed. Completed applications will be processed and reviewed by the Scholarship Committee. Awards are announced in May.
