Dean & Sue Jacob Family Fund
The Dean & Sue Jacob Family Fund is a donor advised fund created by Marion Community Foundation’s third president and CEO in 2014. Dean and Sue have included their children as successor donor advisors to keep them involved in their fund’s charitable decisions and to encourage a close connection to the Marion community where they grew up.
Dean is the only son of Norma and George Jacob and a native Marionnite. He is an attorney by trade and served for a number of years as a teacher at River Valley Middle School, alongside Sue. He became President and CEO of Marion Community Foundation in 2014 and promptly created this fund to express his pride in his hometown.
Dean enjoys running, hiking, bicycling, and swimming and has participated in triathlons and marathons. He also enjoys photography, travel, and community theater.
A 25-year veteran teacher, Sue was born and raised in Marion and is active civically. Her community involvements include United Way, the Marion Palace Theatre, St. Mary Church, and the River Valley Community Partnership Committee. Reading, travel, and family are her main hobbies. She is well known as an excellent cook.
The Jacob Family Fund is a donor advised fund, allowing the family to annually seek community causes to support with their fund.
