William & Marjorie Grover Scholarship Fund
The William & Marjorie Grover Scholarship Fund was created in 2010 as a memorial for William who passed in 2008. Bill, as he was more commonly known, was a Marion native and businessman and long-time former member of the Pleasant Local Schools Board of Education. According to Marjorie, Bill always planned for the future and, therefore, the family wanted to honor him with a scholarship which supported the future of young people from Pleasant schools.
Bill was the founder and owner of Power Manufacturing, a brass foundry and machine shop. Also a Marion native, Marjorie made her career in retail, having worked for the former Sutton and Lightners and Elder-Beerman. The couple has one daughter, Laura, who is a sixth grade health and science teacher at Pleasant.
Honoring the Grover family, scholarships from this fund support the educational pursuits of seniors and graduates of Pleasant High School who attended the school throughout their entire high school experience and who rank in the top 25 percent of their graduating class. Special consideration is given to applicants who have been members of the PHS girls’ basketball team or who will be attending Miami University of Ohio.
This fund was established through a family gift, as well as memorial contributions.
