Stephanie K. Lust Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Stephanie K. Lust Memorial Scholarship Fund honors the memory of its namesake who lost her life in an automobile accident in 2004, just after her graduation from Pleasant High School. She was planning to attend The Ohio State University and major in pharmacy. Before her passing, it was Stephanie’s intention to pursue a career to help cancer victims—like her cousin, Erin James, who succumbed to the disease at an early age.
Created by her parents, Steven M. and Geri L. Lust, and family in 2006, the fund makes awards to Pleasant High School seniors who rank in the top 50 percent of their graduating class.
The Lust family, who also created the Erin James Memorial Scholarship Fund in honor of their niece and the Lust Family Fund, a designated fund which benefits the Ackerman Medical Fund at Emanuel Lutheran Church, have expressed their belief in the Marion community through these funds.
In addition to gifts from family and friends, Stephanie’s fund has been supported by the proceeds of the Scoops 4 Stephanie charity bicycle ride — which tours Marion County, stopping at the Waldo, Prospect, Green Camp and Richwood dairy bars. It is held in August in Stephanie’s memory and was created by friends Alice Piacentini and Ann Baker.
