Shepard – Melhuish Memorial Fund

The Maureen Shepard & William Melhuish Memorial Fund is a donor advised fund created in 2018 by family members Robert Shepard, Jr. and Linda S. Shepard.

Maureen passed in 2015 at the age of 91. She was a Marion native, graduating from Pleasant High School and Heidelberg College. Her majors were her passions — literature and history — and the focus of her teaching career in the River Valley Local Schools. She did missionary work in China and loved travel, visiting Israel, Germany, and Greece.

Bill was a twin, born and raised in Pennsylvania. He graduated from the University of Maryland and was a Russian language interpreter for the U.S. Navy. Following his military service, he spent many years, through his retirement, in Marion working for the US Postal Service. He passed in 2017.
