Ray & Charlotte Baldauf Fund
Created in 2009 as the R&C Fund, the Ray & Charlotte Baldauf Fund actively supported the community anonymously for years, becoming public only after Charlotte’s passing in 2017. The fund, since its inception, has served simply to support the Marion community.
Ray Baldauf was the founder and long-time owner of the Central Machine Company, now known as CenMac. His machine shop primarily focused on supplying hinges and other parts to Todco Door. His business acumen provided well for the couple, who were among the first to reside in the Collinswood subdivision of Marion.
Charlotte was a homemaker who was extremely generous and uniquely interested in supporting the Marion community in a wide variety of ways, albeit anonymously. Until her passing, the charitable fund she and Ray created was known as the R&C Fund and awarded grants to numerous local charities and nonprofit organizations, most notably the Marion Palace Theatre and the Marion Family YMCA. Grants from the fund have also supported many local schools, student groups, and education in general.
The Baldauf Fund will continue to support charitable causes in Marion in perpetuity.
