Marion Education Foundation Fund
This donor advised fund, created in 2006 by the Marion Education Foundation, serves to support the Marion City Schools and its students. The fund has a donor advisor committee which identifies and supports needs within the schools, which may include scholarships for graduating seniors of Marion Harding High School. Grants from this fund focus on student support.
The advisory committee for the Marion Education Foundation Fund includes one elementary school principal, one middle school principal, the high school principal, and one member of the School Board. Annual grants from this, and all funds at Marion Community Foundation, are based on recommendations of its donor advisors and approved by Marion Community Foundation’s Board of Directors.
The Marion Education Foundation’s mission is to “acquire and distribute resources that will provide innovative opportunities which will supplement and enhance the quality of education in the Marion City Schools.” This fund supports the organization’s two goals:
- to promote student development by supporting enrichment programs, activities, and recognition of student accomplishment; and,
- to encourage creativity among employees by financially supporting unique educational opportunities and providing resources for creative ideas.
