Lust Family Fund

Established in 2006, this designated fund was created Steve and Geri Lust. It benefits the Ackerman Medical Fund at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Marion, of which they are members. The Ackerman Medical Fund assists elderly persons with expenses such as prescription drugs and medical bills.

The Lusts have also created two scholarship funds at Marion Community Foundation, including the Erin Y. James Memorial Scholarship Fund in honor of their niece who passed from cancer at a young age and the Stephanie Lust Memorial Scholarship Fund, in rememberance of their daughter who died in a car accident shortly after her high school graduation.

For more than 100 years, Emanuel Lutheran Church has had a deep history and long tradition among the faith communities in Marion; and, the Lust family has long roots in the congregation, including founding member John F. Lust. Minnie Ackerman, the namesake of the Ackerman Medical Fund, was the church organist in the 1920s.
