Laura Rush & Thomas Rosol Nursing Student Scholarship Fund
Laura Rush, DVM, PhD, and her husband, Tom Rosol, created a scholarship fund at Marion Community Foundation in 2016. Laura is a scientist at Ohio State University Medical Center who specializes in molecular biology and cancer genetics. She is also an assistant professor in OSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine’s Department of Veterinary Biosciences. Her research with mice studies the genetic triggers of leukemia and lymphoma.
This couple’s gift supports Marion area high school graduates who attend Marion Technical College to pursue a degree in nursing, leading to licensing and a career as a Registered Nurse. Recipients will maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Special consideration is given to students who demonstrate financial need.
Marion Technical College offers a 2-year Associate degree program leading to a career as a Registered Nurse. Laura created this scholarship to support the medical profession and, thereby, encourage a new generation of nurses.
