Eula M. Rhoads Scholarship Fund
Eula M. Rhoads was born in Meeker, Ohio, in 1921. She graduated from Meeker High School in 1939 and attended Marion Business College. She was associated with the Henney & Cooper drugstore in downtown Marion for 57 years, hence her scholarship’s focus on the field of pharmacy.
Another of her passions which is represented in the scholarship fund is her hobby of breeding, showing and judging Shetland Sheep Dogs. She was president and show chairman of Marion Ohio Kennel Club.
Her other community involvements included the First Presbyterian Church, the Marque Club at the Marion Palace Theatre, and the Marion County Historical Society, of which she served as past president and volunteer manager of the Heritage Hall gift shop.
The Eula M. Rhoads Scholarship Fund makes awards to Marion area high school seniors in the top 25 percent of their graduating class and graduates who maintain a college GPA of 3.0 or better. Special consideration is given to those pursuing a degree in pharmacy or veterinary medicine at an Ohio college.
