Dr. Kathy Dixon Memorial Scholarship Fund

Following her untimely death in 2011, Dr. Kathy Dixon has been memorialized by her husband, Dr. Mark Davis, through the creation of this scholarship fund at Marion Community Foundation.  Kathy was a much beloved family physician in the Marion area, known as a strong patient advocate.

During her 21-year medical career with Marion General Hospital, Kathy served as president of the Marion Independent Physicians Association, the Marion County Health Commissioner, and president of the Marion General Hospital medical staff.

The Dixon Scholarship supports the educational careers of area students wishing to attend Marion Technical College and The Ohio State University at Marion. Applicants can be from any high school in Marion and its six contiguous counties. Special consideration is given to college upperclassmen who are majoring in the fields of science or health care.
