Daniel B. Stover Memorial Scholarship Fund
Created in memory of her son, Betty Stover created the Daniel B. Stover Memorial Scholarship Fund in 2017. Daniel passed in 2013.
Daniel was a 1975 graduate of Elgin High School and 1979 graduate of The Ohio State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics. He was very community and education oriented, serving as a past councilman in LaRue, Ohio, on the Montgomery Co. Zoning Committee, and on the Elgin School Board for 8 years. Daniel also volunteered his time as an Elgin basketball and track coach. He had a true love of the outdoors and enjoyed studying history.
He was Organizational Director for 11 years with the Wyandot, Hancock, & Marion Co. Farm Bureau and spent 22 years as manager of the Marion Municipal Airport. He was past President and current member of the Ohio Airport Association.
The Stover Scholarship supports the education of high school seniors and graduates of Elgin High School who ranked in the top 50 percent of their class. Special consideration is given to students pursuing careers in agriculture or science and who were active with FFA.
