Craig Scholarship Fund
The Craig Scholarship honors the late Diane M. Craig. She established the criteria for the scholarship herself immediately before her untimely death in 2009. Friends and family added to the fund.
Diane was a teacher and coach at Ridgedale High School for more than 32 years and her scholarship supports the pursuit of higher education for students from that school. She loved her family and enjoyed being with her “kids”—be it coaching, teaching, watching, or just spending time with them.
A graduate of Archbishop Alter High School and Ohio University, Diane spent the early part of her teaching career in Centerville (Ohio) and Detroit, as well as employment as a lab technician at Northwest Medical Labs, prior to moving to Marion in 1975.
A devout Catholic, she and her family were members of St. Mary Parish in Marion, where she served on the parish council. She was a member of the National Education Association and Ohio Education Association, representing Ridgedale Local Schools.
Recipients of the Craig Scholarship must demonstrate commitment to their education, be pursuing a degree in the sciences, medicine, health, engineering, or education, and have attended Ridgedale High School throughout their entire high school experience.
