Civitan Club of Marion Scholarship Fund

The Civitan Club of Marion migrated their scholarship program to Marion Community Foundation in 2020, creating the Civitan Club of Marion Scholarship Fund.

Civitan International is an organization of volunteer service clubs around the world, dedicated to helping people in their own communities. Civitans help wherever the need arises – from collecting food for a homeless shelter, to volunteering at their local retirement home, to building a playground for children with disabilities. Civitans have been helping people since the organization’s founding in 1917, by a group of businessmen determined to make a difference in their community. The Marion Civitan club was chartered in 1965 and maintains a meeting hall at Sawyer-Ludwig Park.

The Civitan scholarship supports life-long Marion students pursuing or intending to pursue a field of study or career that either involves working with children in education or working with children or adults with disabilities.
