Brenda Dye Music Boosters Scholarship Fund

The Brenda Dye Music Boosters Scholarship Fund was created to honor its namesake, who was active for many years with the River Valley Music Boosters, 4-H, Marion and Morrow County Farm Bureaus, and many other community organizations. The fund was originally established with the River Valley Education Foundation and migrated to Marion Community Foundation’s stewardship in 2013.

Brenda was a noted community leader and active with her church, Cornerstone Alliance. Her community involvement included the Morrow County Jr. Miss program, Army Family Readiness, Buckeye Girls State, Ohio Reads, Morrow County Relay for Life, Marion Popcorn Festival, and Morrow County Republican Women. She was an avid collector of Longaberger baskets.

Brenda passed in 2012. She was a 1973 graduate of Northmor High School and earned an Associate of Business degree from Marion Technical College. Her career path included working as a bank teller for Peoples Bank and Farm Credit Service, office supervisor at Adecco, and office manager for Gompf Funeral Service.

Her fund supports the education of seniors from River Valley High School who have participated in the school’s music program. It makes annual awards to support students’ higher education goals.
