Bonnie L. Lamb Scholarship Fund

The late Jeff Lamb (1948-2026) created this fund in memory and honor of his mother, Bonnie Borland Lamb, who along with his father, Willis, who owned and operated Wiant’s Bookstore in Marion. Bonnie, who passed in 1986, was also employed with the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services. This is a legacy fund, created in 2021, will support scholarships for seniors and graduates of the five Marion County high schools to attend Marion Technical College and pursue a business degree.

Jeff was a longtime resident of Caledonia, Ohio, and loved the outdoors. He was born in Marion, Ohio, and attended Marion Harding High School, where he sang in the school choir, and graduated in 1966. He later took classes at The Ohio State University at Marion before entering the workforce, including Whirlpool Corporation during two periods of his career before retiring in 2009. He also managed Wiant’s Bookstore, the downtown Marion book and office supply store owned and operated by his parents.

Jeff was an avid gardener, particularly of canna lilies, geraniums, and hostas. He was a big fan of the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes and loved his large family, having growen up with eight aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.

Jeff also created the Richard L. Borland Fund in memory of his uncle to support the Prairie Parks Foundation and Marion County Park District.
