Bebout Family Fund
The Bebout Family Fund was created to honor Brad Bebout on the occasion of his retirement from Marion Community Foundation. Brad was the Foundation’s second president and CEO, serving from 2000-2014. He and his wife, Carol, serve as donor advisors to the fund and maintain their connection to the Marion community.
Originally from Convoy, Ohio, Brad holds degrees from Bowling Green State University and Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law. He is a former Marion County magistrate and self-described “recovering” attorney and was very civically active in Marion during his career with the Foundation, including Marion Rotary, Marion Noon Kiwanis, and the Palace Cultural Arts Association, among many others.
Active in community theater, he has performed in Upper Sandusky, Bucyrus and Marion, as well as directed at the Palace and Marion Harding High School. He enjoys music, especially jazz, classical, and show tunes.
Born and raised in Marion, Carol is a graduate of Harding High School and Bowling Green State University, with a degree in education. The Bebouts settled in Marion in 1980 when Brad came to practice law with Carol’s dad, Riley Hall. Prior to that she taught in the Cleveland Public Schools and Hardin Northern School; between 1980-2013, Carol taught at Taft Middle School, was assistant principal at Edison Middle School and served as assistant principal and principal at Harding High School. In 2013, she became principal of Tri-Rivers Career Center. Her community involvements include the YMCA, MAPP, and supporting her students.
