Recurring Automatic Gifts

No More Check Writing

Brian Barger’s philanthropy honors both the past and the future. A high school senior, Brian was the first to receive the Adam Johnston Memorial Scholarship, honoring a second grade classmate who passed from a congenital heart defect.

“As a classmate of Adam’s, it was a special honor to receive his scholarship,” said Brian. “Adam was truly kind and a friend to everyone in the class.”

Because of this, Brian, Mid-Ohio Energy Cooperative’s Director of Communications and Marketing, gives regularly to support Adam’s scholarship and future scholars. And, he does so using a new giving option at Marion Community Foundation.

Thanks to a partnership with Fahey Bank, the oldest financial institution in Marion, donors can set up recurring, automatic donations from their bank account to any charitable endowment fund at Marion Community Foundation. According to Brian, the automatic donation process is convenient and the set-up is easy. “I can contribute regularly with no need to set reminders or submit payments,” he said.

If you have a charitable organization or cause that you regularly give to and they have an endowment fund here at Marion Community Foundation, all it takes is completing a simple authorization form to set up our new automatic donation option. You pick the fund and the amount. This can be part of your giving plan to build up a fund over time or spread out your intended annual contribution and save time and effort versus check writing. Sign-up forms are available upon request. Call us for details, 740-387-9704.
