Prexy Play Scholarship Fund | Est. 2009
This designated fund was created by a community effort to reduced pay-to-participate fees for deserving students at Marion Harding High School and Grant Middle School. The fund was created at Marion Community Foundation in 2009. Awards from the Prexy Play Fund help support student athletes and musicians whose families may struggle with extra-curricular program fees.
The fund was created thanks to a committee at the Marion City Schools, including Nicolle Wampler, Phil Reid, Garry Davis, Sue Evans, Rex Ballinger, and Mike Lindsey.
The purpose of the fund is to assist students who aspire to play sports and participate in the band or other extracurricular activities, but do not have the financial means to do so. Participating in extracurricular activities should be enriching and proud moments in the lives of students and their families; however, this expense, which the Prexy Play Fund seeks to reduce, can be very stressful for families.
The Prexy Play Fund is open to additional, tax deductible contributions. Click Here to Support This Fund.
