Wm. Kay Davis Fund
The Wm. Kay Davis Fund is a non-endowed donor advisor fund created at Marion Community Foundation in 2014 by a gift from the Wm. Kay Davis Foundation. It was created to memorialize its namesake and to benefit the Marion Tallgrass Trail.
Bill (1904-1991), as he was more commonly known, was a Marion attorney. He was one of the first to earn the degree Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University School of Law in 1930. He began his career in law with the illustrious Cleveland firm of Squires, Sanders, and Dempsy, but soon moved to Marion and joined Donathon, Michael, and Davis. Early in his career he was drafted into the Army’s JAG Corps and served in the Pacific Theatre.
A confirmed bachelor, he loved horses, so much so that he had his own stables and arena on his family’s 450 acre farm in Marion County. He owned, trained, and showed saddle bred horses well into his 80s.
