Steven L. Ruth Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Steven L. Ruth Memorial Scholarship Fund honors the life of its namesake, nephew of local financial professional Roger Ruth. It will provide annual college scholarship for local students.

Steven Ruth (1956-2022), a graduate of Elgin High School, was a local farmer. Along with his two brothers, Jon and Arden, he farmed the Ruth Family Farm.

Steven was active with the Elgin FFA and held various leadership roles throughout the years. He served as Green Camp Trustee and was a member of the Marion Senior Fair Board. Steve was active with Marion County Steam & Gas Engine Society, Mid-Ohio Antique Farm Machinery Show, Inc. and was a passionate member of the National Brussels Griffon Rescue.

Steven lived life to the fullest and did so with infectious humor. He enjoyed snowmobiling, ATV trail riding, and time spent in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and wintering in Florida. Above all he cherished family and was devoted to his grandchildren, telling them stories of the past and teaching them life skills.
