Russell & Jerlene Rosebrough Fund
Created in 2007, the Russell & Jerlene Rosebrough Fund was established by Russell to honor the late Jerlene Rosebrough with a planned gift of an IRA and an annuity. The Rosebrough Fund makes awards as part of the Foundation’s annual Community Grants Program.
Following the passing of his wife, Russell (1926-2018) created this fund with a heart for helping children who have – like himself – lived at Waddell Village. Following the death of his mother when he was 4-1/2 years old, he and his five siblings went to live at Waddell Village. He lived there until age 13 and remembers learning to milk cows, having bread thrown over the fence to the kids there, and experiencing the death of one of his brothers.
To help the next generation, Russell created this fund to both honor his late wife and, as an unrestricted fund, allow Marion Community Foundation’s Board of Directors to assist with any worthy community needs as may arise, with special consideration for supporting children’s issues.
