Roger & Janice Vanover Family Fund
The Roger & Janice Vanover Family Fund is a donor advised fund created in 2002. It allows the Vanover family to recommend grants in support of a variety of community causes which are important to them.
The late Roger Vanover (1938-2024) was a member of Marion Community Foundation’s inaugural Board of Directors and a well-known financial advisor in the Marion area. He and Janice were married for 60 years and raised a family of three daughters. They built a successful real-estate business that continues today as Vanover Management Co., Inc.
Roger had a heart for helping his community, the less fortunate and underprivileged children. He was an active member at Central Baptist Church and served on several boards, including Goodwill, and was a member of Rotary, Kiwanis, Y- Men’s, and Salvation Army.
The Vanover Fund, at the family’s direction, has a decades-long history of supporting organizations and programs for underprivileged children, including summer camp experiences and support of school programs. Some of the organizations supported by the Vanover Fund include: Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library/Marion Public Library, Voice of Hope Pregnancy and Family Center, Turning Point, Luke 3:11 Ministries, The Ohio State University at Marion, and Marion CAN DO!, as well as several local churches and schools.
