Marion Historical Site Visit Fund
The Marion Historical Site Visit Fund was created in 2008 by a gift of the Peg & Merle Hamilton Foundation to support history education in Marion, home of the United States’ 29th President, Warren G. Harding. The Hamilton’s were generous supporters of Marion history and have created a number of funds with Marion Community Foundation to support their passion for history.
This donor advised fund was created to benefit schools located in Marion County and awards grants annually to support education experiences and field trips to historical sites within the county.
Other Hamilton funds support the Linn School, Marion County Historical Society, and several local churches. He also supported Marion’s World War II Memorial, the Harding Home, Marion Family YMCA, Marion General Hospital, and the Palace’s May Pavilion.
