Louis & Susan Nemeth Fund

Susan and Louis Nemeth met and married in the 1970s in her native New Jersey.

Louis (1937-2020), originally from Cleveland, graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science, Rider College with an MBA, and was a Certified Public Accountant. His early career was as an international controller with Singer Corporation.

The Nemeths moved to Marion in the early 1980’s, when Lou took a job as vice president of finance with Nachurs Plant Food. Later, he became president of Aqua Tech Environmental Laboratories, and a lecturer at Ohio State Marion, as well as maintaining his own accounting practice. Louis enjoyed woodworking, was an avid fisherman, and a member of VFW Post #7201.

Susan (1949-2024) worked in the human resources field and held several jobs during her lifetime, including Marion HMO, Marion Marine, and Aqua Tech Environmental Laboratories. After retirement, she worked part-time at the Marion CBD store.

The couple raised a daughter, Laura, and son, Lawrence.

The Louis & Susan Nemeth Fund was created in 2020 as a designated fund to benefit the Marion Area Humane Society and support its animal care and welfare programs.
