Khurshid Husain Fund
The Khurshid Husain Fund is a designated fund created in 2024 to honor of Dr. Khurshid Husain, who was a Marion resident and family physician for the last 45 years. He retired from his family practice in 2014 and took up cycling, which started as a hobby and became his passion.
Dr. Husain was a regular on the Marion Tallgrass Trail and was so proud of the development and preservation of it. He took great pride in taking his children and grandchildren on his beloved trail.
The trailhead for Tallgrass is located off Holland Road. It is a wonderful place to exercise, have fun, and get into nature on a paved 12-mile outdoor recreation trail which follows an old railroad corridor through western Marion County.
His four children, Maaria, Yasmeen, Kumber and Nisba have created a non-endowed, designated fund to benefit the Prairies Park Foundation and to keep their father’s trail maintained and safe for the community.
