Kevin & Ruth Smith Scholarship Fund

Marion Community Foundation board member Kevin Smith and his wife, Ruth, created this scholarship fund in 2023 to benefit Elgin High School seniors who have participated in school-sponsored extracurricular activities and who plan to pursue a career and degree in business, finance, or economics.

Kevin is a proud Elgin graduate and is the recently retired Region President for First Citizens National Bank, having served as a commercial banker for over 30 years. Kevin is very involved with Marion Community Foundation; in addition to serving on its Board of Directors, he serves on the Investment, Scholarship, and Grants committees.
