Jim & Barb Craycraft Family Fund

This field of interest fund was created in 2026 by its namesakes to provide grants to schools located in Marion County, with a preference for projects that promote career planning.
Reflecting on his nearly 60 years in education, Jim explains their fund’s purpose. “I have noticed a lack of focus on students being guided in the direction of a successful career,” he said. “The fund would be used by school personnel to assist students in making better choices regarding their future.”
Barb has been a librarian for the Ridgedale School District and Jim has worked as a teacher and superintendent in several schools in the area. The Craycraft family has been part of the Marion community since the 1940’s, with careers in education, agriculture, and industries located here.
“My wife and I and our family have lived in the Marion area for over 75 years. We consider Marion our family home,” said Jim. “As we age, we wanted to make sure the Craycraft family remains part of the Marion community. By having a perpetual fund guarantees we will be a part of the growth of Marion.”
