Isabel Freer Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Isabel Freer Memorial Scholarship Fund was created by Nell E. Freer to honor her sister, Isabel, who taught French and Latin in the 1940s and 50s at Marion Harding High School. Isabel attended Allegheny College, Columbia University and the University of Wisconsin. The Freer Fund awards scholarships to the academically highest ranking female students of the graduating class at Marion Harding High School.

Marion Harding High School opened its original building (now the location of Grant Middle School) in 1953 and their current location in 2003.  It is the only high school in the Marion City Schools district and enrolls more than 1,000 students.

Harding offers Gear Up, a premier counseling and scholarship program, Next Generation Learning, Literacy, Leader In Me, and Diploma+. The school offers core academic offerings as well as career technical programs in early childhood education, health technologies, exercise science, and global logistics. College credit opportunities are available in partnership with Marion Technical College and The Ohio State University at Marion. HHS students can complete coursework in Project Lead The Way and compete in a nationally recognized robotics program. More than 55 extracurricular offerings include fine arts, music, choir, orchestra, and MOAC conference teams.
