Henry Heinzmann Fund
Originally a field of interest fund created in 2005, the Henry Heinzmann Fund was converted to an unrestricted fund in 2018. It was created by Dr. Heinzmann, a past chair of Marion Community Foundation’s Board of Directors and local physician.
Dr. Heinzmann allows the Foundation’s Board of Directors to use grants from this fund to meet pressing community needs, especially if those needs are to support community food pantries or other programs and organizations that provide meals for the poor and homeless people in the Marion area.
Henry was long affiliated with the former Smith Clinic, a group practice now known as OhioHealth Marion Area Physicians, and served several years as the medical director of this multi-specialty group of over 70 physicians. He, himself, is a board certified physician in internal medicine and pulmonary disease. He currently serves as medical director to the Center Street Community Health Center in downtown Marion.
Henry served on Marion Community Foundation’s Board of Directors from 1998-2009, including two terms as board chair.
