Gladys & Everett Granger Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship honors the memory of Gladys and Everett Granger. Gladys, who passed away at the age of 96, was originally from Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. Her husband, Everett H. Granger, was a graduate of Holy Cross University, having majored in chemistry. He co-founded the Marion Bronze Company and worked there for 25 years. Upon his retirement, he and Gladys resided in Florida.
The Granger Scholarship is a faith-based award and is given annually to college students from the Marion area. Special consideration is given to applicants who are members of Trinity Baptist Church, St. Mary Catholic Church, or employees of an assisted living facility located in Marion County. The Granger Fund was created in 2012 by the couple’s children, B.J. Granger, Margaret Vogel and Judith Granger. The Grangers also had six grandchildren—Megan, Deena, Travis, Maggie, Derek, and Alison—and three great-grandchildren—Hayden, Hudson, and Genevieve
