Ed Crawford Memorial Scholarship Fund for River Valley Students

For more than 50 years, Ed Crawford dedicated his life to helping students discover their potential. As a science teacher, coach, assistant principal, and middle school principal in River Valley Local Schools, he inspired curiosity, encouraged perseverance, and believed education could change lives. His steady leadership, sense of humor, and genuine care for students left a lasting impact on generations of River Valley families.
Ed, who passed in early 2026, was known for recognizing potential in every student. While academic achievement was important to him, he was especially committed to students who demonstrated hard work, good character, and determination.

To ensure Ed’s values continue to guide and inspire future generations, his wife, Carol Crawford, joined family and friends to establish the Ed Crawford Memorial Scholarship Fund for River Valley Students at Marion Community Foundation in 2026. The scholarship supports graduating River Valley High School seniors pursuing higher education at a college, university, or technical institution.
Reflecting the principles that defined Ed’s life and career, scholarship recipients are selected not only for their academic commitment, but also for their character, perseverance, and determination to succeed. Special consideration is given to students facing financial hardship, helping ensure that educational opportunities remain within reach.
