Don & Deb Alspach Fund

The Don Alspach Memorial Fund, now the Don & Deb Alspach Fund, was created in 2008 by Deborah Alspach, Marion County Common Pleas Judge and two-time Marion Community Foundation Board member, and family who wished to honor his passing and the outdoors he loved so much.

In establishing this fund, Judge Alspach and their six children wish to memorialize Don “in the spirit in which he lived.” In addition to his 38-year career as a pharmacist, Alspach was an avid gardener and naturalist with particular interest in herb and flower gardening for their medicinal properties. He was active in the Marion Garden Club and a master gardener. He retired from MedCenter Pharmacy.

The Alspach Fund provided the support for the construction of a nature and visitors center at the Marion Tallgrass Trail Park, as well as an ongoing endowment for maintenance of this trailhead facility. This gift is a fitting memorial to outdoorsman Don Alspach.

Deb Alspach is a retired judge from Marion County Family Court.
