Dave & Anne Brown Family Fund

The Dave & Anne Brown Family Fund is a field of interest fund created in 2012 by family members and numerous friends wishing to memorialize this farm and family-focused couple.
Dave and Anne each have proud heritage in Marion. Anne was the daughter of C.E. (Pat) & Elizabeth Gifford. Pat was an engineer who held many patents during his time working with the Huber Corporation.
Dave was the grandson of George W. & Sarah King. George was a founder of The Marion Power Shovel. He and Sarah built and resided in their home known as Etowah, where David was later born. Dave’s parents were W. Hoover & Ava King Brown, founders of the Wyandot Popcorn Company.
Dave and Anne were married in Marion in 1951 and shared nearly 52 years together. They lovingly raised five children, Tom, Randy, Cindy, Steve, and Bruce. Together, they operated Maken Bacon Farm near Morral. Dave passed in 2003 and Anne in 2011. Both were very active in the Marion community, especially with Epworth United Methodist Church, Ridgedale Local Schools, and many farming organizations.
Son Bruce Brown represents the family and serves as this fund’s donor advisor. Awards from the Dave & Anne Brown Family Fund favor organizations and programs which address neurological diseases and disorders, agricultural programs for youth, and end of life care.
