Daniel R. Russell Memorial Scholarship Fund

Created in 2024 by wife Lindsay Russell and mother Colleen Russell, this scholarship honors Daniel R. Russell (1982-2024) and provides awards for students pursing a degree and career in nursing, with a preference for students and graduates of Pleasant High School in Marion.
Dan prided himself in his work as a nurse. He worked as an RN at Mt. Carmel East Hospital and found his calling at Nationwide Children’s where he fell in love working in the pediatric ICU. He was a respected and admired nurse remembered for his compassionate and caring work ethic.
Dan loved the outdoors, particularly fishing, was a big fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals, and an avid lover of Legos. His children picked up that love and had numerous sets on display in their home, including a small version of the Millennium Falcon and gifts of Lego flowers for his wife.
Following his passing from cancer, Dan’s family established the Daniel R. Russell Memorial Scholarship Fund to provide college scholarships for future nursing students.
