Cones Family Scholarship Fund

The Cones Family Scholarship Fund was created in 2017 by sons Rob Cones and Doug Cones to honor their parents, Bill & Joan Cones, and the entire Cones family.

The scholarship makes a special nod to their mother, who was a long-time elementary school teacher in the River Valley Local Schools. Both Bill and Joan are strong supporters of Viking sports. 

Bill and Joan relish time with family, including their seven grandchildren.  They enjoy vacations with family and are especially fond of beach and island getaways.  Both are active in their church at First Presbyterian and diehard Ohio State Buckeye fans. 

Bill served as the golf coach at Ohio State’s Marion campus for a number of years and always enjoys a round of golf with family and friends. In his spare time, he loves woodworking activities.

Joan enjoys the outside, especial gardening and walking. She enjoys the water and jet skiing, crafts and knitting, and church activities.

This scholarship supports River Valley seniors and graduates with special consideration to those pursuing a degree and career in the field of education.
