Bill Burga Endowment Fund

The Bill Burga Endowment Fund was created in 2023 by Bill’s son, Tim, who succeeded his father as President of the Ohio AFL-CIO. The Burga Fund is a designated fund benefitting Tri-Rivers Career Center — specifically its Construction Trades Academy — and honoring Bill as one of the people originally instrumental in the creation of TRCC.

Tri-Rivers Career Center has grown to be one of Marion’s premier educational institutions and the Contruction Trades Academy is one of its fastest growing programs. A career program, it prepares students, as early as their sophomore year in high school, for pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship, and careers in building, construction, and related trades. Instruction covers estimating, wood & commercial metal framing, roofing, interior finishing, masonry concrete form work, electrical, heavy equipment, and concrete place and finish. The lead instructor, David Willey, is the recipient of the 2023 Outstanding Alumni Award. A 2020 graduate of Tri-Rivers, Willey has been on faculty since 2017.

Contributions to this designated endowment fund will both honor Bill Burga, Past President of the Ohio AFL-CIO, and help support future construction trades professionals, the students of Tri-Rivers Career Center.
